The device, Google Pixel 9a, looks very promising, as the company has done a lot of things right and that too at the price point that a majority of the users might love it. Design impressions of Pixel 9a

The foremost thing is design and this can be subjective as it depends upon the preferences of people. But the design of the Pixel 9a is not actually similar to their 9 series, which we really miss. We wanted to have that cylindrical ring around the camera and back of the phone.

Since there were only 2 cameras required, they kept the camera design smaller, which still gives a nice look to the phone. The whole back is minimal and all the buttons are on the left side of the phone. You will be getting the phone in 3 colors: Iris, Porcelain, and Porcelain, which are light blue, white, and light black in simple language.

The phone is Ip68 rated so there won’t be any issues in playing with this phone in the water.

Camera impressions of Pixel 9a

Now coming to the camera part, there are no real complaints with the Pixel devices even falling in the A series. You get all the important features like Night Sight, macro focus, Add Me, Magic Editor, etc. However, you are going to miss out on the bigger zoom quality and the ultrawide camera.

Also, you cannot shoot 8k videos with the camera, which will be fine for the majority of the people, as 4k@60 is still going strong. You can digitally zoom up to 5x on the phone.

Performance impressions of Pixel 9a

You are going to get the same chip across all the devices in the 9 series, which is the Google Tensor G4. However, the RAM variant in the Pixel 9a is 8 GB as compared to 12 and 16 in other phones in this series.

The phone is launched in Android 15 out of the box with 7 years of security updates and OS upgrades, making the smartphone futureproof for the coming years.

Battery Life Impressions of Pixel 9a

Image talking about the pixel 9a battery.

We have kept this at last but you know what? The battery life of the Pixel 9a is even better than the other bigger and more expensive devices in this series. It is a 5,100 mAh battery, which is really impressive for someone who is going to buy this phone.

You are going to get all day of battery life without any compromises. However, the phone charges slowly as it supports 23W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging.

Pricing and Final Verdict

The Pixel 9a is launched at the price point of INR 50,000 for their 8 GB and 128 GB RAM variant. The pricing is a bit on the higher side as compared to their regular a series but looking at the battery they have packed, it might be worth going, especially if you have a flagship smartphone that has gotten older.

However, sooner or later you are going to see price drops in the Pixel series devices. You can also consider the Pixel 8a at this point since its pricing has come down to INR 38000.
