The world of smartphones is very dominating and competitive for any brand to stay in the limelight. Increasing the user base requires the brands to constantly be fearless and do bold releases. Something similar has been done by Lava with their Bold 5G. So how fearless, competitive, and good is Lava Bold 5G? Here are our impressions of this newly launched smartphone.
A design that catches attention
As we put our eyes on this smartphone, its design really caught our attention, especially the one in Sapphire Blue. The camera module is circular, which gives a really modern look to this smartphone. The phone comes with IP 64 dust and water resistance, giving a little bit of rugged vibes.
3.5 mm jack lovers, you have to feel sad because this phone does not come with a headphone jack. But a fun fact is that the USB-C to 3.5 mm connector is available in the box. The bezels are really less and you get a curved display design with a punch-hole selfie camera that looks really small.

The display is the best part of this phone.
At the price point of Lava Bold 5G, it is the first and currently only brand offering a 3D curved AMOLED display of 6.67 inches. There are no cost-cutting measures in the refresh rate department as it packs 120Hz of refresh rate. For watching content or playing games, the 1080×2400 resolution will surely give you a great experience. Also, the finger is in display, which adds to making this phone feel more modern.
The battery is standard but it has a good charging speed.
We are seeing smartphone trends in 2025 where brands are giving more than 5000 mAh batteries, but Lava has gone with a standard 5000 mAh battery. But the good part is that it charges with 33W speed and from 0 to 100%, you can have it charged in 110 minutes. The charger comes in the box, unlike every other brand, which is a great thing.
Software, performance, and processor in the phone
The phone comes out with Android 14, which could be Android 15 out of the box, but the experience of the software stays clean without any ads, bloatware, or unwanted apps. Lava has assured an Android 15 upgrade in this phone and 2 years of security updates; hopefully, they deliver on this promise. In the processor department, the phone comes with MediaTek Dimensity 6300, having an AnTuTu score of 420,000. The processor is quite capable of doing day-to-day tasks and, of course, casual to good gaming also.
The camera department is decent.
See, at the price point at which Lava Bold 5G comes, there shall not be strict complaints with the cameras. It packs a 64 MP Sony camera with a 16 MP selfie camera. You get camera features such as Dual View Video, Film, Pro Video, Slow Motion, Timelapse, UHD, GIF, Beauty, HDR, Night, Portrait, AI, Pro, Panorama, Filters, and Macro. Anyone buying a phone in this range does not have a priority in camera.
Price and Storage Variant
Now comes the key part of Lava Bold 5G, the price tag and storage variants. It is 2025 and a 4 GB RAM phone is unexpected, looking at the heavy apps we use every day. Even if you use your phone for calling and light use, apps like Truecaller are going to freeze it. So, above that, the phone offers a 6 GB and 128 GB variant at the INR 13,000 price point and then an 8 GB and 128 GB variant at INR 14,000.
Pros of Lava Bold 5G
- Great display
- Good Processor
- Free home service
- Great design.
Cons of Lava Bold 5G
- The price tag is on the higher side.
- Should start from 6 or 8 GB variant and had 256 GB option too
Final verdict
Lava Bold 5G comes at a price point of INR 13,000 for a 6GB variant. It is not about the offerings but as a company that is known for releasing better phones at a lower price tag, then it gets unacceptable from a user’s viewpoint.
For example, take Infinix; they have recently launched the Note 50x 5G, and the phone starts at the 6 GB RAM variant at the price point of 10499. Any user buying a phone at this price point won’t have display preferences for the curve so it is a useless cost addition.
Hence, this phone should be a complete skip and you may look for some other options like the Realme P3, which will deliver better value for a bit more money invested.
